Recovery

I'm finally over this flu bug, or whatever it was. One of my roommate has it now. Oh well. It was bound to happen. Hopefully she doesn't have a full blown illness.

The baby shower wasan't too bad. No one really cared that I was around or that I had a boyfriend. My cousins are yuppies. I watched them with disgust and annoyance. I've sworn to myself never to become a yuppy. What's a yuppy to me anyway? Someone who is obsessed with money. That might not be the real definition but the word came to when I was observing my cousins, gloating in their boosted salaries. Yuppies. It also made me want to drop out of college again, just because I don't want to be a yuppy. I don't want to be some lazy ass bum that's always drinking but I don't want to be a yuppy. I want don't money to be the center of my life.

I think I was mostly annoyed with my cousin who has a baby. Everytime the baby needed something like a diaper change, or milk, etc, he would wave off the baby as his girlfriend's responsibility. I don't see them that often, but I have never once seen him change his son's diaper or feed him or tend to him when he's crying. Xab noticed that she always had an angry face on. But what would you expect? My cousin was always having the fun at the party while she could only play mom. It kind of pissed me off that my family was always criticizing her for not getting a job, and for getting mad when she got annoyed that my cousin was never being a dad. What do you expect? She's being a full-time mom while he's being a part-time yuppy and a full-time playboy. Where are there priorities?
